Axle Fit Guide Many axles that come with your bike now include length (L) and thread pitch (TP) measurements printed on them. Take the axle off your bike and check for these printed dimensions. If you find specifications on the axle, simply measure the axle length to determine whether it corresponds to hub length or the actual bolt length.
Note: Axle length differs from hub length. For instance, a bike with a 12×142 hub standard will feature a significantly longer axle.
